8 Questions with cehryl

cehryl is an indie musician born and raised in Hong Kong.

Which talent would you most like to have?

I’d like to be able to time-warp my life and plow through certain weeks in 2x speed and certain days in 0.5 speed. I’m on YouTube a lot, as you can tell. I’d also like to be able to draw really well.

What is your most treasured possession?

Old photographs and posters I’ve stuck on walls of every room I’ve lived in.

What is your idea of perfect happiness?

Perfect happiness is no fear. No WebMD paranoia. No fear about not being able to afford a medical surgery. Having a roof above you and having food in front of you. Being in love. Having a good music recording/producing setup. Freedom to express yourself. Rainymood.com.

What is your motto?

I don’t have one. But something I ask myself often is, “what would <insert name of artist I’m obsessed with at the time> do?”

How would you like to die?

Fun question… I would like to die suddenly, quickly, out of the blue, painlessly. Isn’t that everyone’s answer? I’d like to just evaporate, if possible. I wouldn’t want there to be a witness to my death, except a small animal or insect like a bird or a butterfly. I wouldn’t want anyone to be sad or worried leading up to the death, just after the fact. I’d hope for some people to be really sad, obviously... I’d want the moment to be really quick and low-key but also bizarre and melodramatic. (I will be thinking more about this, thank you for the prompt)

If you were to die and come back as a person or thing, what would it be?

I’d probably not want to come back because I’d be attached to my life as me right now and upon coming back, seeing everything would break my heart (nostalgia) but if my consciousness were truly fully reset I’d probably come back as an inanimate object that’s very involved with human life, like a camera.

What do you consider the most overrated virtue?

Patience, because I have none.

What is your current state of mind?

I am feeling impatient. To release music, to write better music, to find a better job, to start better projects etc etc etc.
