Which talent would you most like to have?

The ability to fall asleep on command. (Betraying my age and anxiety levels)

 

What is your most treasured possession?

My mother recently gave me a ring that had been made with white gold that had been melted down from my late father’s wedding ring. I live in terror of losing it.

 

What is your idea of perfect happiness?

Taking my children somewhere new and seeing the look of wonder and mirth on their faces as they run towards it.

 

What is your motto?

Everyone dies anyway.

 

How would you like to die?

Obliviously, in my sleep, after destroying all my private documents, long after my children have grown.

 

If you were to die and come back as a person or thing, what would it be?

A sentient alien on a planet in a different galaxy.

 

What do you consider the most overrated virtue?

Forgiveness.

 

What is your current state of mind?

Extremely conflicted about staying in Korea or returning to the United States for the upcoming year. Relieved and grateful that I have lived to see my book being published. Exhilarated but nervous about upcoming projects!
